Jury VIKTOR DOK.deutsch Competition 2024


Intense stories and the unusual on one’s own doorstep: the competition presents films that deal with people and topics in German-speaking countries. The VIKTOR DOK.deutsch Competition is endowed with 7,500 euros. The award is sponsored by Sky.

We are pleased to introduce you to this year’s jury below.

 

Stephanie Fuchs

Sales Manager, Autlook Filmsales GmbH

Through her work as Autlook’s Festival Manager, Stephanie has overseen the festival runs of multiple OSCARS® nominated films. In 2022 she expanded into sales, licensing films to theatrical distributors, broadcasters and VOD platforms and offering her expertise as a consultant, industry advisor and panelist.

 

 

Leopold Grün

Filmmaker and pedagogue, VISION KINO

Leopold Grün is a filmmaker and pedagogue. Since 2020 Leopold Grün has been managing director of VISION KINO, a Germany-wide institution for film education (school cinema weeks). From 1996 to 2017 he was responsible for the media education department at FSF, a self-regulatory institution for TV-content. He made his first documentary films at the end of the 1990s. THE RED ELVIS (2007) and FAR END OF THE MILKY WAY (2013, Bavarian Film Award and Bild Kunst Schnittpreis 2014) were shown at international festivals and successfully released in German cinemas. From 2017 to 2019, he was managing director of the German association of independent film distributors AG Verleih.

 

 

Sebastian Höglinger

Curator, Distribution/Text, Former Director of Diagonale

Sebastian Höglinger, born 1983 in Linz, studied theater, film and media studies and has many years of experience in organizing and implementing cultural events. Curatorial and journalistic activities as well as cultural policy consulting at home and abroad. Employee of sixpackfilm Filmdistribution. From 2009 to 2014, co-director of the YOUKI International Youth Media Festival in Wels as well as work at various film festivals. From 2015 to 2023 Artistic Director and Managing Director of Diagonale – Festival of Austrian Film in Graz (together with Peter Schernhuber).
