Intense stories and the unusual on one’s own doorstep: the competition presents films that deal with people and topics in German-speaking countries. The VIKTORIA DOK.deutsch Competition is endowed with 7,500 euros. The award is sponsored by Sky.
Hamado Dipama
Advisor to the Working Group of Bavarian Advisory Councils for Foreigners, Migrants and Integration (AGABY) for anti-racism and anti-discrimination work in Bavaria
Hamado Dipama is speaker of the Bavarian Refugee Council and founder of the working group Panafrikanismus München e.V. and the network Rassismus- und Diskriminierungsfreies Bayern as well as co-founder of the Zentralrat der Afrikanischen Gemeinde in Deutschland. He has been a long-standing member of the Migrationsbeirat München and on the board of the Dachverband der Migrationsbeiräte in Bayern (umbrella organisation of migration councils in Bavaria) and is currently their advisor for anti-discrimination and anti-racism work. He has been a member of the BR-Rundfunkrat since 2017.
Katja Kraft
Culture Editor at Münchner Merkur and tz
Katja Kraft was raised in the Münsterland region and completed a traineeship at the Starnberger Merkur after finishing high school in 2006. She then went on to study child and adolescent psychology while working as a freelance contributor for various media outlets. Since 2016, she has been a culture editor at the Münchner Merkur and tz.
Jaie Laplante
Artistic Director of DOC NYC
Jaie Laplante is Artistic Director of DOC NYC, America’s largest documentary festival. Prior to that, he served for 12 years as Miami Film Festival’s Executive Director, where he greatly expanded documentary selections and launched successful initiatives such as Google Talks on Gender & Racial Gaps in Film & Technology. He has served on numerous film juries and is a recipient of Knight’s Cross of the Order of Isabel la Católica of Spain, for career work in the exploration of Spanish cinema.
