João Pedro Prado

João holds a Master’s degree in Directing from Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF and previously studied Philosophy at Freie Universität Berlin. His mid-length musical ASH WEDNESDAY, tackling police brutality in Brazil, premiered in 2023 at the Berlinale. In 2024, his short DEAD PERIOD was shortlisted for the German Short Film Award. His thesis film FISSION, a feature-length documentary about Germany’s nuclear phase-out co-produced by ZDF and co-directed with Anton Yaremchuk, premiered at CPH:DOX 2025.
