Aphra Taghizadeh

Aphra Taghizadeh (b. 1999, Isfahan) is a multimedia artist whose practice spans directing, editing, XR development, research, and writing. Engaging with visual and spatial explorations of human cognition within various societal contexts, he utilizes mediums such as VR, film, installation, and performance. He created the mixed reality documentary Speechless Witness of a Wandering Tree (2024), an immersive recreation of the blindness experience, which premiered at the 37th edition of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) and was part of the MIT R&D program. In 2023, he made a documentary titled Ja'az, focusing on the history of jazz music in the Middle East, which premiered at the Nahal International Short Film Festival in Tehran and has screened at festivals internationally.
