Zippy Kimudu

Zippy is an award-winning Kenyan Filmmaker who has been working in the global industry for over a decade as a Director/Editor. She received her MFA from New York University and has worked on both Fiction and Non-Fiction projects filmed in over 20 countries. Her award winning documentary 'Our Land, Our Freedom' premiered at IDFA in 2023 and her new Film ‘Widow champion premiered at Hotdocs in April 2025. Zippy is the founder of www.afrofilmsinternational.com, a women-led Creative’s Collective based in Nairobi and Kilifi, Kenya, working to ignite political consciousness, and action, across continents.
