In many films, including 12 ANGRY MEN, Henry Fonda has embodied the authentic conscience of the nation. In his detailed and entertaining essay, Alexander Horwath wanders through a history of film that shows the USA as a land that could be social, fair and open. Fonda was a man who was much more than just the face of the land of opportunity. Daniel Sponsel
